I have owned several nice vehicles over the years, but a muscle car era chrysler had always eluded me, as my family and a career always came first.
As a father of four and with more than 20 years combined service in law enforcement, and as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician, there was no room in my life for the toy I had wanted since I was a teenager.
I found this car more than 5 years ago, and knew this was the one. After several attempts to purchase it fell through, I had all but given up.
I never forgot about it, and often wondered if I would ever see it again, or have another opportunity to own it.
5 years later, with the kids more mature, and a more relaxed lifestyle, the car is mine. It had been for sale the whole time, but the owner never made his intention to sell it known to the public and somehow, she waited on me.
The car is named "Ember", because it was a flame that never died out.
About My Car(s):
1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus. Completely Original, no modifications or additions, numbers matching. (She was built right the first time, can't improve perfection - at least, in my eyes).
Original metal, and vinyl - no previous body work (with the exception of fading paint being touched up 5 years ago).
This is the first year that she is being driven as a PA titled car, having been garaged for 19 years, after being brought up from Virginia.
She still has the undercoating that was applied in 1972.
Original equipment, including factory front disc brakes, A/C and all options in working order .
That would be a fun time. Getting together with heavymetal and you for a photo shoot. We are slowly getting the suspension done and hope to have the engine in by the end of august. Again you have a gorgeous car. Waiting is often the hardest way to earn something... anyways that is waht I am finding out about getting my car done.
Well ain't she a purdy sight! What a find. Love your wheels - trying to find some for mine. We haven't had the body redone, what's been done is a lot of patches here and there in a hurry. We bought another Satty for parts, it's body is great and is in storage, I've often thought - 'too bad I can't just take everything mechanical and transfer it into that body', in reality and in the presence of a lotta extra $$, it'll eventually happen. - lol Know how you feel about wanting it since teen years, I was 14 when I decided this car was 4 me. Puts a smile of my face eveytime I sit in it, doesn't even have to be running! Thanks for sharing and so happy you're finally able to enjoy something that's been dear to your heart for so long. ~laurie
