I have been contemplating a set of headers for my 1977 Chrysler Cordoba 360. But I was recently told that some 70's heads will not accept standard headers. I was told that some (very few) heads from the mid to late 70's heads have an extra port for…
I am a medically retired semi-truck driver, and have been a Mopar Enthusiast ever since I can remember. As a small child, walking to the corner store with my grandpa, I first saw a 69 Charger Daytona. From that point on I was hooked. I never knew what that car was until high school, in auto shop, looking through an old HotRod magazine I spotted another Daytona, still remembering the car I saw as a child. Well I'm sure everybody knows the rest, That became my dream car. But being a realist, I chose the closest thing I could find, in my price range, and my first car as a teenager was a 71 Charger 500, and I loved that car. It had the rally dash with a 150 m.p.h. speedo, a T handle "Slap Stik" shifter, and a 383 c.i. 2 bbl. carb. an a 727 automatic trans.
You know what they say, hind sight is always 20/20. And if I had known then what I know now, I would still have that car.
About My Car(s):
My daily driver is the one pictured in my profile, a 77 Chrysler Cordoba, and it has a 400 c.i. ex-ELB, w/727 auto. The trans has a shift kit, and a 5.0 KD lever inside. The consol shifter has been upgraded to a Slap-Stik, and I have purchased a cop car speedo that reads up to 140 m.p.h. certified. As all cop car speedos read. I also have 2 other 77's, thats 3 in all. The second one is basic transportation with just a few options installed on this vehicle, like Leather bucket seats w/ consol shifter, this one has a factory Tach. in the dash. And I also put a cop speedo in this one also, and looks awesome next to the tach. Last but not least is a 77 T-top shell that came from the factory with a big block. There is no motor or trans in this one, but I have a 78 440 c.i. and 727 auto trans. to put in it. Should be a lot of fun when I finish with it.
